Genius Hour went so well this week! Many of you saw the Genius Hour posts in Seesaw this week. Students worked on a KWHLAQ chart to help them take their wonders and passions to the project proposal phase. As a group, students thought about what they already know, what they want to know, how they will find out, and what action they will take during our future genius hours. They are excited to begin their research. And we are excited to see the student-led learning that is taking place!
In math we continued working with addition strategies. We focused at the beginning of the week on ways to make 10 and how to make a 10 to add. We had a couple of students volunteer to explain their thinking using the Seesaw tools and I was VERY impressed with how well they explained the strategy. I even had several students asking to stay in for a few minutes of their recess to "be the teacher" on Seesaw and explain how to use the strategy with an example problem. What a great group of kids we have!
