In phonics, we worked with the sound of ou and ow this week. We took a trip "out of town." Students packed their suitcases with ou and ow items and I gave each of them their own airline ticket for our trip on Tuesday. We visited places with ou and ow in the title: The Bellagio Fountains, The White House, Cow Town, Brown University, Space Mountain, Sears Tower, and Mount Rushmore. I showed them a brief videos or a pictures at each of our destinations. They loved it. At the end of our trip, the students wrote about their favorite ou/ow destination.
We did a lot of individual assessing for reading this week since it is the end of the third quarter. We assessed fluency, sight words, and running record reading levels. On Friday, Mrs. Spicuzza sent home updated reading graphs to share with you. Report cards will be available after Spring Break.
Enjoy your spring break!
